After moving to Northern California from his home country of Belgium in 2005, Founder Jonathan Hankar noticed the heavy use of plastics and polymers while working in the kitchen and home industry, so he saw an opportunity to bring an easier, more organic elegance to the table—literally and figuratively.
In starting Be Home's first product collection, he focused on building relationships with family and women-owned artisan groups, multi-generational craftsmen, and independent makers around the world. Over 15 years later, Be Home has been partnering with global cooperatives and artisans all around the world to produce handcrafted and responsibly made home goods that not only last, but add a sense of purpose and adventure in people’s day-to-day routines. To ensure peak quality, their products are designed in-house by their dedicated team in Northern California and crafted in small batches, making each piece truly one-of-a-kind. Their dedication to creating a positive impact in people's everyday lives, from their customers to their employees, artisans, and everyone in between, is what drives them to exist.
