Inspired by his love for salt, Ben Jacobsen started Jacobsen Salt Co. in 2011 after working in Copenhagen and discovering the unique flavor of finishing salt. He wasn't able to find it when he moved back to his hometown of Portland, Oregon, so he began harvesting it himself from the Oregon coast. What started as a weekend hobby then became a local, small business, and now a nationally recognized brand as America's leading salt maker.
